26 Wizard of Oz Illustrations by W.W. Denslow (1900) – Full Color Pages

These were collected from the digitized version of the 1900 edition of The Wizard of Oz on the Library of Congress website. In that edition, all the illustrations were done by W.W. Denslow— you’ll probably recognize them because they’re used heavily in Oz products!

As for this post: I downloaded each image individually, lightly edited them (keeping the vintage aged paper look), then re-uploaded them here! All these illustrations are in the public domain, so you can use them for personal or commercial things. If you do use them, it’d be nice to credit the original artist, W.W. Denslow.

I split the images up into three posts because they were getting pretty long. This one has the covers and full-color illustrations; be sure to also check out the chapter headings post, and the “other illustrations” post which has the smaller in-text images found throughout the book. There’s also an L. Frank Baum Book Index post you may be interested in, and an upcoming Wizard of Oz Series Index post.

If you would like high-quality 300 DPI JPGs of these images instead, I have packs for sale in my store.

Color Pages

These are my favorites! They’re full-color illustrations that take up a whole page. (Full-color but in a limited palette, ha.) I think they’d be great for little prints to hang on the wall, or for journal covers. Click on an image to see it full-sized.
